Faux Bois Sofa

It looks like a pine bench. It appears to be stiff, uncomfortable and better-suited to a hiking trail, rather than a home.

But, it's actually an optical illusion.

This is a trompe d'oeil sofa, called Soft Wood. The 'wood' is actually photo-printed fabric that covers comfortable cushions. (Click on the image for a better view.)

Designed by the all-female Swedish group, Front, it's faux bois taken to the next level. It debuted earlier this year at the Milan furniture show, and will supposedly be produced by Moroso (though our cursory search didn't lead anywhere.) Still, it's a cool concept.
