As part of the Holy Trinity of Italian race cars (along with Ferrari and Lamborghini) Bugatti is renowned for one thing, and it's not furniture design.
Yet, even without an engine, the limited edition (only 99 signed and numbered pieces) Bugatti Racing armchair could become a classic. In June, Italian furniture company Cappellini unveiled the 2009 Bugatti Racing small armchair, designed by François Azambourg.
It's billed as 'a fireball design, in flaming red.' We like the sleek white stripe that zips down its glossy flaming, red enamel color. We're also very curious about this description: The chair is made with a very thin crumpled tin that's injected with polyurethane foam.
Crumpled tin doesn't sound very comfortable, but we hear that some things aren't built for comfort. They're built for speed.
