These model cars are created by Dutch industrial designer Floris Hovers using steel extrusions and basic, factory made metal parts. He calls them ArcheToys, because he creates archetypes of familiar motorized vehicles, from an ambulance to a milk truck.
He's posted a video on his site to demonstrate how an Archetoy is made, and it makes us wish we hadn't dropped that Shop class. And check out other examples of his older work at Dezeen.
