There's a surge of 'new' George Nelson stuff that is now available, and these ceramic clocks are the latest example. Designed in 1953, these clocks have his signature modern organic feel, with a hit of the geometry that makes his wall clocks so widely adored.
The irony is that Nelson never actually made any of these clocks. Vitra Design Museum is creating them for the first time ever using Nelson's plans and prototypes. In this case, everything old was never quite new before.
Vitra have a fun website where you can find a nearby dealer. Meanwhile, we hope there are other Nelson prototypes idling away someplace.
