Trend Spy: Clean-Burning Fireplaces

Where there's fire, there's no longer much smoke... or even a chimney, for that matter.
Thanks to the wonders of technology, it's now possible to install clean-burning fireplaces pretty much anywhere. We're seeing all kinds of smokeless, soot-less and ashes-less fireplaces lately. No chimney or flue required. Most work indoors or out, and burn on clean, eco-friendly fuels, such as ethanol.
We rounded up some chic freestanding and wall-mounted options, as well as a few dramatic, suspended orbs (our faves). Most of these are WAY out of our budget, but we did manage to find a few wall-mounted fireplaces that are surprisingly affordable. Also worth a look are the amazing Planika firepit/coffee tables we mentioned a while back.
